Every Labor Day Weekend is one of my favorite shows, the Ventura Nationals. A friend of mine called it a social gathering that happens to have cool hot rods there, which is a great way to describe it.

Sultans Car Show 2025
Early Sunday morning, I headed over to Marina Green Park for the Sultans Car Show. This time was going to be a little different from just covering a car show; I was going to be a vendor with my business, Whittier Speed Shop.

Saturday, I made the 10-minute drive from my pad to check out this year’s Mooneyes Open House.
LA Roadster Show 2025
Not 1 day but 2 days of fun in the sun for the 59th Annual LA Roadster Show. A great time at this year’s show hangin’ with friends, checking out some very cool cars, and trying not to buy anything in the swapmeet.

Suede Palace - GNRS25
One of my favorite buildings every year at the Grand National Roadster Show is the Suede Palace, which is always filled with so many cool traditional hot rods and customs.
Grand Cruise-In - GNRS25
The buildings may be filled with hot rod goodness at the Grand National Roadster Show, but that isn’t the only place you’ll see them. They are all around the buildings at the fairgrounds, especially on Saturday.

Al Slonaker Memorial Award - GNRS25
Besides the AMBR competitors, the other big Grand National Roadster Show award is the Al Slonaker Memorial Award. This year’s winner is Bill Barbato and his 1933 Pontiac Sedan built by CAL Auto Creations.
America’s Most Beautiful Roadster - GNRS25
This year’s winner of the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster at the Grand National Roadster Show was Ross Myers’ 1936 Ford Roadster built by Rad Rides by Troy.
Holiday Motor Excursion
It’s rolling up on the end of the year and around this time of year is always the Holiday Motor Excursion put on by the Horseless Carriage Club of SoCal.
Eddie Cochran Memorial Car Show 2024
Sunday was all about a new show in Bell Gardens. The Eddie Cochran Memorial Car Show was a car show honoring musician Eddie Cochran who spent part of his young life in Bell Gardens, CA.
Customs Cruise Bellflower
Saturday night after Cruisin’ for a Cure I headed over to Bellflower to check out the Customs Cruise happening in Bellflower.

A foggy morning kicked off this year’s Cruisin’ for a Cure. It’s always a packed show with over 3000 cars and trucks in attendance every year. It’s always a good time.
