After a day of racing the racing continues. Once the eliminations are done and the trophies are handed out the fun begins.

Many a racer shows up for the chance to race their friends and to go down the track but that’s not the only reason. They are there to compete.

As a photographer I sometimes get to do and see some cool things. While at the RPM Nationals I get to start right at the startline and watch my friends and other racers stage, get right up on the startline and punch that throttle launching their cars down the track. It just such a blast being right on top of the action.

If you go down the track you’ve got to get back to the beginning and that means making your way down the return road.

Saturday at the RPM Nationals starts off the day with grudge racing and test and tune runs.

So many friends at this year’s RPM Nationals. Many new and many old friends just out having a goodtime watching 4-bangers and flathead hot rods running down the strip.

Now of course the RPM Nationals is about the racing but that’s not all that is going on during the event on Saturday.

It all starts on Friday at Santa Margarita Ranch as the participants roll-in setting up their pits and getting their cars teched and ready for RPM Nationals.

Saturday I headed over to The Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum for the South Coast Corsa Ageless 2 Anarchy Car Show.

One of my favorite shows every year is the Ventura Nationals and this year’s show did not disappoint. From start to finish checking out all the awesome rides that rolled into to the show and a wonderful day hangin’ with friends just made for a great holiday weekend.

The beginning of the big show. Saturday morning I’m up at 4am to be ready for the Ventura Nationals and to catch all the cool rides rolling into the show. Now usually I’m not there before a show begins or just a little before but the sunrises at the Ventura Nationals can be spectacular.
