Main Street El Segundo Car Show 2013
This past Saturday, the hot spot to be in So Cal was on Main Street in El Segundo for a car show hosted by the El Segundo Police Officers Association. What we loved about this show is that it drew a different set of cars than we normally see at other local events...
It's always fun to see a Lark, Studebaker's answer to the compact car, which featured a conservative style and seating for six.
Loving the classy red pinstripe details on this rod - subtly used in all the right places, it gives just the right pop to this classic.
Vintage on the outside and brand new on the inside, the retro and modern mix on this Jaguar was intriguing.
Is it a Holden or a 1934 Chevy? We vote Holden, an Australian brand now owned by Chevy. Check out the right-hand drive and Holden badge.

This pint-sized BMW delighted show goers; single door Isettas are rare at shows, and this extremely rare two-door version was a particularly welcome and unusual car show participant.
In addition to cars from every vintage, this retro Pan Am stewardess, complete with a miniature decked-out assistant, greeted hot rod and classic car enthusiasts.
The Automobile Driving Museum brought out several cars to display, and reminded us that they are "the museum that takes you for a ride."
There's no better way to end this post than with this stunning vintage custom truck, simply called the Silverback.
Usually, I try my best to wait for the right moment, and photograph vehicles when they're free of other show goers. Most of the time, with patience, it's possible. With this truck, it wasn't - the crowd was unbelievable. This time, it's helpful to have some people in the pics, as it gives you an idea of the massive size of this truck.
Built from an old Seagrave fire truck, seen here in its original condition (notice the scale!), the owner cut several feet from the bed to shorten it, making it a bit more manageable on the street than a typical fire truck! Completed with superb vision and precise yet beautiful details, this truck had to be our very favorite of the day.El Segundo's Main Street Car Show is not to be missed, and with the quality of cars at this year's event, we're looking forward to next year's show with great anticipation!
